In a critical situation or when making a critical decision, it is very important for me to be right. What I get out of it is knowing that I am protecting the health and welfare of others or myself.
However, in other situations, being right is not worth a possible conflict.
I must confess that I am a little too enamored of being right! What I get out of it is being smarter, or more well-educated, or being, er, more right than everyone else. Evidence of this ardor for being right is in some of the blogs I like, including The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks and The Grammar Vandal.
My need to be right depends upon what is involved as stated by Marley concerning a critical decision. Otherwise,I state what I think is right then let the other person think about it; it is not that important to me. :D
What if someone interviewed you over a period of thousands of hours, asking you every question you could imagine and many you couldn't? Through the course of the interview process, you would gain a keen understanding of yourself. You would end up with a comprehensive portrait of not only your surface thoughts, but also your deeper inner wisdom and insights. You would learn your whole story.
With a question a day, this blog is your interviewer.
We'll ask one new question here every day. Whether you're already on a journey of self-inquiry and transformation, or just starting, or simply want to begin a journal about yourself and your thoughts, your own answers to these questions will help you write the story of you.
There are ten thousand questions, and any one of them could turn your life in a new direction.
Most times I think I need to be right, however I generally stop, think about it, and bring myself back to earth.
