Thorns in your side, burrs under your saddle
Who irritates you the most? What is it about them that irritates you?

A question a day for journaling, self-discovery, and transformation
It is really pretty random. Usually I am irritated more by people who are closer to me and it usually is more about something in me...although it takes time and distance to see it sometimes, almost always it is simply my own irritability finding someone to attach itself to.
ReplyDeleteButler's comment is interesting and it applies to me in many ways, except that an unfriendly manner cannot be applied to me. And, an unfriendly manner annoys me the most.
ReplyDeleteI had a more prosaic response to this: I'm particularly irritated by people who use cell phones in inappropriate places. Last night, we stepped into a lovely Thai restaurant with a serene and beautiful ambience. There was only one other couple there, two women...and one of them was loudly talking on her cell phone about plans for Superbowl Sunday. The waitress started to walk us over to a table near them, but I asked her to please seat us far away from the woman with the cell phone!
ReplyDeleteI do and the list is pretty long. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm told I am extremely hard on myself and I guess that statement above says the people who told me are right.
Milesperhour, you get bonus points for coming up with the unexpected answer. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey say there are two main ways to reduce irritation at something you can't avoid: you can adjust your expectations, or you can adjust your reactions. I think this still applies even when the irritant is yourself.
