My Secret Hideaway
What sort of 'secret' places did you have available as a child? Did you have a treehouse? A place in the woods? A corner of your attic? Was this secret place all your own, or did you allow friends and siblings to join you there?

When I was a kid, we'd go up to the seasonal campground my grandparents always go to during the summer. One day a group of us decided to go into the small wooded area above the horse shoe pit. There was this huge tree that we decided to make our "clubhouse." We took rakes and raked out all of the leaves and made a sort of village.

I fondly remember a neighbor's forsythia bush. The branches sprayed out from the top and dangled all the way to the ground, creating a space inside big enough for three or four kids to hide in.
